Imaging methods and sensor signal processing in medical technology

Medical imaging systems, signal processing, artificial intelligence, machine learning

Profile of specialization

AI methods are increasingly being used in various ways in medical technology, e.g. for image analysis, diagnosis and prognosis of diseases. Thanks to AI methods, large amounts of data can be analyzed quickly and efficiently. This applies in particular to medical imaging systems such as CT, MRI and PET.

This specialization focuses on mathematical methods for signal processing, machine learning and deep learning. Research into AI methods for medical imaging is currently being carried out in close cooperation with the Radiology Department at the University Hospital of Tübingen. Students can further develop their methodological skills by participating in such projects.
