Award: 3rd prize for the best presentation at LANE 2024

September 25, 2024 /

Michael Haas, GSaME-PhD student at the IFSW, received the 3rd prize of the best presentation award at the 13th CIRP Conference on Photonic Technologies (LANE 2024) in Fürth/Germany. In his presentation entitled ‘Improving the weld seam quality in laser welding processes by means of Bayesian optimization’, he presented the advantages and potential of Bayesian optimization for laser welding. We are delighted with him about this award and the interest in the use of AI methods to optimize laser processes.

The ‘LANE Best Presentation Award’ honors the most inspiring talks at the conference. The three winners are elected by the conference participants. The best presentations are selected by assessing the style of the talks as well as their contents. The first place is endowed with a prize money of 1000 Euro. The second and third place is rewarded with a prize money of 500 Euro each.
