Prof. Alexander Brem from the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Science (ENI) has been ranked 11th among the most research-active business economists in German-speaking countries, according to the latest business administration ranking by WirtschaftsWoche. In the 'Lifetime Achievement' category, which evaluates all research contributions over the course of a career, the Vice Rector for Science Transfer and International Affairs secured 72nd place.

The rankings encompass the publications of 3,723 business economists affiliated with professorships, as well as Fraunhofer and Max Planck Institutes in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The rankings are based on data from the bibliometric web portal Forschungsmonitoring, managed by the KOF Swiss Economic Institute at ETH Zurich, with support from the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics. The results are based on publications in almost 860 business journals from 2020 to 2024, which were weighted according to their reputation.

More information on the methodology and the results of the ranking can be found on the WirtschaftsWoche website.
